You know - it does help some knowing what's up.

I feel your pain! I'm only 30 and I have arthritis in my ankle. Though mine is the result of a very badly broken ankle a couple years ago. I had to have surgery. They put in a bone graft as well as 3 metal pins to try to hold everything together. The recovery was awful. I still have very limited range of motion in my ankle. It isn't noticeable just walking around, but if I run, I have a slight limp and it causes some problems in dancing. It also caused early onset arthritis and it hurts pretty much all the time -- sometimes worse than others, sometimes not that noticeably unless I really pay attention. But they doctors have said that using it won't cause any further damage, so I just work through the pain. I'd rather do that than give up any of the activities I love! Thankfully it hasn't caused any problems when climbing, but if it's a really rough approach (hiking out to the climbing areas), sometimes it slows me down.

Pain sucks huh?
