Phew! C.'s present arrived

I just received C.'s Christmas present in the mail. I was so nervous -- it was a sketchy online retailer and I realized AFTER I placed the order that it is based in Hong Kong. Yikes.

Still, it arrived in one piece, on time and it looks great. They even gift-wrapped it for me - for free. :)

Is everyone else done with their shopping?

I need to get something for my dad and one nephew and I am done. Maybe a few stocking stuffers for C. and the kids.

How sweet that you are including the girls' grandma. :)

I cannot believe Christmas is next week. It feels like Halloween was last week - seriously.

I am SO looking forward to the time off. We will be on part vacation/part furlough, so I have 10 days off!

Ok, well I have always felt from your posts that Gma is a little too involved in D.'s life and has boundary issues. I am SO GLAD for you that he is moving out of her house soon (or has he already).

I would start setting your own boundaries with her now - and often. Tell her you plan to attend church that day (if you are planning to already), but you won't be participating in the advent ceremony. (I don't really know what's involved in that, either.) Period. No discussion.

It is NOT ok for her to volunteer you for things and you need to send that message loud and clear.

The photo calendars are a little odd. Does she not have much family of her own? Maybe she just wants to play grandma/mom to a lot of people and sees D.'s family as an extension of her own?
