"seriously/really" saying ?
Sat, 10-29-2011 - 12:09pm

Is anyone else out there besides myself annoyed with the implement of these two words that are ever so common now? It's like people can't even go two sentences anymore without throwing those words in. It is so annoying. How did this come about anyways? Did some high school kids think of it and it just washed over in to the public. I recall this only being fairly recent going on a year or so about of using these words. I wonder when this fad- saying will stop. I know someone who thinks it is silly too but has recently started using the words like a copy cat.

I am almost positive that tv is to blame. Every tv show I watch aimed at 20-30somethings uses seriously/really/literally in excess and its so common now I barely hear it. Apparently I use all three all the time to and hardly notice lol.

LOL! Guilty! I use them occasionally, too. And add to that list Are you kidding me? Usually with an expletive inserted.

Yes those words are quite annoying. They're filler words that people use to try to appear engaging, I guess? Blah!
