SNOW DAY....YEA!!!

Hi Everyone, it has been a little while since I've posted to the board. I was new when I first posted, so many of you may not know me. A few of you do. I just started back to work about 3 wks ago and haven't been on too much. I check back every few days to see what is going on, but never have enough time to post. Well...as you can see, I'm having a snow day! I live in NC and we got snow yesterday. It is so pretty. I love being able to sit and watch the snow, while bundled up in my favorite sweats and blanket, drinking hot coffee, and knowing you don't have to go out in the mess! I was raised in Western NY, right outside of Buffalo, so I'm use to the snow, but haven't lived there in over 10yrs, so I miss the snow at times.

What does everyone like to do on a snow day.

I'm getting a chance to catch up on all my e-mails. My friends probably think I've forgotten about them. :o) Also catch up on some letter writing. And posting on iVillage boards! What fun! I hope to hear from you guys today. I will checking to see how everyone else enjoys their SNOW DAYS!

Isaida,

Hello from upstate NY!. I've been off the board for quite a while myself and thought I'd check back in to see what's new and I noticed your post. I'm hoping for a snow day tomorrow or Wednesday but probably won't get it...lol. As you know, NY is much better prepared for snow that NC. I'm still doing snow dances because I want to ride my new snowmobile :-) Not as much snow here as in the western part of NY. I hope you enjoy your snowday! Did you get enough to build a snowman?

Hi...yes, got enough for a snowman, but not as much as home. Most definitely NC is not prepared for snow. I love NC, but North Carolinians cannot drive in good weather, let alone snow, so I try to stay off the road. It has been so long so since I rode a snowmobile. I think the last time was when I was about 13 or so. I loved it though. Loved sledding and innertubing also. I'm enjoying my day. I'm about to wrap up in a blanket and watch a movie. Wish my hubby was home to cuddle with. He is off to work. Not all of us got a snow day. He works with the electric company and had to go in, in case of outages. I will be back on later to check the boards out. Hope to hear how others enjoy their snow days! :o)

Here in WI we're having our own snow day! My DS was off from school for a teacher in-service day, but we're getting about 6-8 inches of the white fluffy stuff today. It's been fun to play in, but definitely not fun to clean up! I was outside around 1:30 p.m. to shovel and I couldn't even get through the pile at the end of my driveway that the snowplows left for us. The worst part was, as soon as I was done shoveling, it started snowing again and now I could shovel again (an hour later). Oh well...it's just about time we had some snow. We're below average right now and that usually means summertime drought.

I sure don't miss those days...no shoveling here. There is snow on the walkways, but since no one is going out, no need to shovel. It will get up into the 50's in a few days, so it will all melt. That is the good thing here, the snow won't stay. It is good for a day or two, but that is all. I don't miss digging my car out of snow. And that is literal. I would have to get up for work an hour early to go and dig my car out. The plows made it much worse, especailly if you parked on the street. Which we did in NY. NO FUN!

I'm enjoying my snow day today though. Staying inside, nice and toasty and warm, sipping on hot coco. What pleasure...

Snow??? Oh yeah, that's that cold, white stuff that's fun when you're a kid, not so fun as an adult having to shovel it, drive in it, etc!

I'm originally from the Chicago area, so have had my share of snow days! A couple of years ago, I moved to Arizona. I love to see the snow on TV, magazines, etc, just so long as I don't have to be in it;)

Hope you're enjoying your day, though, all cuddled up with your hot chocolate:)

Hi there!!! I've been kind of behind on my emails lately too... and haven't had much time to come to the boards for awhile now either. We've just had three snow days in a row, no school, no work. And they are finally going back to school today, though it is two hours late. The kids have all been enjoying the new sleds they got for Christmas, and as for me, I'm just trying to stay in out of it!!! I can't stand the cold! Almost the entire area here did not have any power the other night for almost all night. It was soo cold! I CAN'T WAIT FOR SPRING!!!!
