Update On The Teenager

Well I think D's DD17 has changed her mind about the 23 year old. She's told me on Tuesday night that she is single and that there is a boy at school that likes her. She said she texted the 23 yo and broke it off. Her moan reason for deciding to break it off is that he is old. When he's 30 she will only be 23 "and that is just old". (ther I sat 39 yo feeling really old!!!!). Now this new boy plays hockey and his teamhas a tournament in anchorage this weekend too and his whole team came to watch them play. I walk out of the gym and ther they are kissing. It was a quick little one but what happened to being single?!?!?!?! And she just broke up with the other guy. Ugh!!!!! I'm not even going to try to figure this out!!!! :0). She's talking to me still and she's not being rude. So at least that is good.

Just thought I should share

thanks.

I'm glad she's not being rude anymore. And glad she's interested on someone who's more her age. Just because she kissed a boy doesn't mean she's suddenly in a relationship. I kissed plenty of boys in high school, but never had a boyfriend. It sounds like she's exactly where she's supposed to be -- I think it's totally normal and healthy to have crushes in high school and to kiss people you're intersted in!

At least this boy is in her school and closer to her own age - that's a step in the right direction.

My cousin's daughter is 19. Every time she breaks up with one guy, she is in a new "relationship" within two weeks tops. Her whole life revolves around having a boyfriend. Sigh. Maybe it is just a phase that teenage girls have to go through. Hopefully they grow up a bit as time goes on, right?
