I am child free for two weeks!

Such an odd feeling!  My kids left yesterday to go to Arizona for two weeks with their grandpa.  They're driving a vehicle out, doing geomorphology research while they're there, and then flying back.  When I deleted everything that involves them off the calendar I was left with......work.  How exciting!  Well, I do have an orchestra rehearsal next week, and I scheduled a dentist appointment to give myself something to do, ROFL.  My three daily goals for while they're gone (on my days off from work, at least) are to exercise, practice my violin (I have a hard piece to learn for a performance this summer...I want to get it under my fingers really well now and maintain it until July), and cook something healthy every day.  I've mulled over the goal of also cleaning up some area of the house daily but so far that one didn't happen, LOL.  But, I only really had an afternoon without them so far, so I might feel more motivated on a different day.

I'm so jealous!   That's a great opportunity to get in some quality time with their grandpa.  If you get bored, I'd be happy to send some of mine to you :)

Oh, you lucky lucky girl!   I wish my brother would just take my mother somewhere for a day or two.

I really shouldn't complain.  My niece came over last week and she was all sniffly and her nose kept leaking.  That was last Thursday, and by Sunday I was sick with it.  I still enjoyed out Easter though.  I've been sick ever since.  I was so sick and I had to go get my medication at the pharmacy so I dragged my feverish self into the truck and took my mother with me, in case I passed out, and went off and got my meds.  I do feel better today.   DH caught it too.  He's been sick since Monday and now Mom is getting it.  It starts with a sore throat and then the coughing, the constant coughing.  I am just happy to be past the constant coughing.

I know how hard it is to get motivated to clean.  Although, once I do I really go hog wild.

Enjoy your childfree time.

LOL, somebody taking your mother.  Nope, thanks but no thanks...I still have hubby to wrangle and he's enough, LOL.

So sorry that you've been sick.  My dd has the same thing...actually...and she's in Arizona.  At least she's old enough to stay by herself in the hotel room...not like having a sick small child where vacation screeches to a halt because nobody can do anything because of the sick kid!  Hopefully she'll feel better tomorrow and be able to go out.  She at least woke up ravenously hungry today...that's a good sign.  (She went to the restaurant and got take-out breakfast, and she has some soup and healthy snacks that she can nosh on the rest of the day until my dad and DS get back from wherever they've gone.)

I've been sick in the hotel room before and it is no fun.

I finally feel better.  DH is still sick and my mom is over it already.  She should have shared some of her immune system with me.

I hope your DD will soon be up and about.

How's the music going?

DD got better fast because she had to go out and do things in the sun instead of cooping herself up in her bedroom.  Then her period started but she managed to cope with that (and thankfully, the first month of being on the pill made it much lighter and shorter...so she didn't bleed on the hotel sheets, whew!

Music went great for me.  I met...and exceeded...my practice goal and made good progress on the technically difficult piece I'm mastering for July.  Now to find time to keep it under my fingers, with the kids back home.  That's entirely another issue!

I sometimes wish I could lock myself in my bedroom but every single time I go into my bedroom to nap, I am interupted a gazillion times.  There are no locks on any of the interior doors in my mother's house because my father removed them all when he was alive and they have never been put back.   I can't even use the toilet without my mother or husband bursting in to ask me something.  I just discovered that if I open the vanity drawer it blocks the door from being opened.  HA!  lol! Finally semi-peace on the potty.

Also if you mention doing work in the yard or around the house everyone disapears.  Funny how that happens isn't it?  LOL!

I hope you get some time each day to at least keep what you have learned in your brain and fingers.
