1. Do you read mainly fiction or non-fiction, or a mixture of both? === a mixture but heavy on the fiction side

2. Do you often go to the library? === not here. I used to in California but here the library simply isn't to my taste

3. Do you prefer hardback or paperback books? === hardback since I KEEP books!

4. Have you ever had an author sign a book for you? === Many times

5. Do you belong to any of the social networking sites for readers (Good Reads, Shelfari, We Read Books, etc)? === no. I belong to Crime Writers Association in Great Britain but it's a professional social organization, not a social network per se.

6. Do you belong to a social book club? === not anymore; I used to be a regular at Mystery readers every Tuesday night in Berkeley but when I moved to Houston, that went by the wayside.

7. What is your favorite bookstore? === "Murder by the Book" in Houston, TX. I was also a fan of "Murder 1" in London but it closed last year.

1. Do you read mainly fiction or non-fiction, or a mixture of both? **Fiction mostly. When I read I want to escape and I just can't do that if I'm reading non fiction. ;o)

2. Do you often go to the library? **I wish... the "library" here is terrible. It's the size of a 1 bedroom apartment. I have more books than it. I long for a library so big I could get lost in it... **sigh**

3. Do you prefer hardback or paperback books? **paperback, easy for taking with you and storing.

4. Have you ever had an author sign a book for you? **YES!!! I met George R.R. Martin at a Book Signing in August 2005. He signed my Hardcover of A Game of Thrones (my favorite book EVER) it was a signing for the release of a Feast for Crows...the 4th book in the series with Game. I have 2 signed copies of the Feast.

5. Do you belong to any of the social networking sites for readers (Good Reads, Shelfari, We Read Books, etc)? **nope...

6. Do you belong to a social book club? **nope

7. What is your favorite bookstore? **Would it be wrong to say Amazon.com? LOL.

1. Do you read mainly fiction or non-fiction, or a mixture of both? Mixture.

2. Do you often go to the library? We use our library regularly. We are very fortunate to have a nice one in town, very well used and loved, with lots to choose from. They have a large selection of free videos as well. Saves $$$ not to rent videos/dvds or buy books that I read just for entertainment purposes. :P

3. Do you prefer hardback or paperback books? Either one. I like hardback from the library as the print is bigger and easier for me with bifocals. :P

4. Have you ever had an author sign a book for you? Once. It was a spiritual philosophy book and I had gone to hear the author speak.

5. Do you belong to any of the social networking sites for readers (Good Reads, Shelfari, We Read Books, etc)? No.

6. Do you belong to a social book club? No.

7. What is your favorite bookstore? I have a discount memberhsip at B&N. Can use online or in a three dimensional book store. I like that I can do the "tactile" thing of going to a bookstore and walking up & down the aisles in various sections, and letting my intuition point me to books. But when I wish to get a book that's been out for a few years, it's often more difficult to find in stores where they carry more recent things, so I like to order online for harder to find things. :P

We used to have a specialty bookstore here called Aliens and Alibis. They sold science fiction/fantasy and mystery books. I always thought that was an odd combination, but it was run by a husband and wife, so maybe he liked one of the genres and she liked the other. The store didn't last very long, unfortunately.

Nope, definitely not wrong to say Amazon! I have a difficult time finding what I want in the stores, so I'm always ordering from Amazon.
