I feel a bit strange seeing as how this is my frist post here on the Path, but I came across some interesting information today and thought it would be cool to share.
I may sound like a totaly newbie right now, but I didn't realize that Valentine's Day was another one of the many borrowed/Christianized holidays.
Valentine's Day was the church's solution to the Roman festival of Lupercalia that honored the fertility god Faunus, also known as Lupercus, "One who wards off the wolf." A full article about this can be read here- one of my favorite sites. Another article I came upon looked further into
