Hurt over changes in our future.

So this is my first time starting a discussion here (or anywhere on the boards), but I've been responding to others for about two weeks now, lurking in the shadows (reading lol) off and on for about 5 years now.

I'm in need of advice regarding my year and a half relationship. I've been out of contact with old friends (with one exception) for awhile, and I need perspective. If you'd be so kind : )

My boyfriend and I have known each other since

I'm not sure that I have any advice for you. I just wanted to let you know that I can relate. My boyfriend and I have been together for two years now. I'm graduating this December, and he isn't. He has another year after I'm done. I'm applying for jobs all over the country...and he has to stay to finish his degree. I feel like all be miserable if I stay for him, and miserable if I leave him behind. Not sure what to do.

Best of luck figuring your situation out.

I don't have any answers for you either...only lessons I've learned from my own growing pains.

Hi there, I'm a bit older than you and went through something similar when I was your age. My advice is to do what is best for you no matter what. I know its cliche but if it is meant to be it will be. Go to the best college for your own specific goals and the rest will fall into place. In my situation the BF I was with at that time and I ended up going our separate ways for a few years- I went to grad school a few states away and he stayed home and became a cop. It worked out for us, years later we're married with two gorgeous children and a beautiful life but if I hadn't left and gone to grad school in the best school possible for me I may still have regrets and resentment. Do what is best for you.
