Anybody else not like the ricotta creme?

I wanted to try the mocha tonight, but did not have the expresso powder so I made it with just cocoa powder, vanilla an stevia. I really didn't like it and could only eat a bite or two. It was just too weird.

Did anybody else not like it? Were you able to do something with it to make it taste better? I was thinking maybe silken tofu would do better than the ricotta - it's creamier.

Any ideas??

Thanks,

Pam

P.S. I just bought the book and read it today. I am going back on P1 because I've been in at a conference all this week and the food choices weren't so great. It's nice to have the recipes - I'm going to try some of them this week. No desserts, though - not until I can have fruit again! ;)

Thanks everyone for your feedback. I think I figured out the problem - it's the artificial sweetener. I really don't like any kind of artificial sweetener, although over the years I've learned to drink diet Coke and some other diet drinks.

Just as an experiment, I tried adding about a tsp of Rapadura sugar to the ricotta, and it tasted fine after that. Of course, sugar is what I'm supposed to be avoiding, so I'll just skip all the desserts until I get to P2 and can have some fruit.

Thanks again,

Pam

Have you tried Splenda. It's made with sugar, but has 0 carbs, 0 fats, 0 calories. I like it much better than the other things.

Try this....it's Phase 2

Cheese Cake Pudding

8 oz. low-fat cottage cheese (small curd) - smooth in a food processor if desired.

8 oz. block fat free cream cheese - softened to room temp

8 oz. block neufatchel cheese (this is low fat cream cheese)- softened to room temp

1 large or 2 small packets sugar free jello (flavor of your choice)

1 small carton cool whip light

Mix together the first 4 ingredients until well blended. Can be made in the food processor. Fold in the cool whip until mixed in well. If you want, you can chop about 1/2 c. pecans and add. We usually prefer without.

This is loved by the entire family, SBDieters or not. I have to make bunches when the teenaged grandboys are around.

This is very filling and satisfies your sweet tooth.

Now to go find the other.

Although I might get a big DUH out there from everyone, I wanted to report that I am a happy camper this evening! For the first time since I started SBD two weeks ago, I am thrilled about the ricotta cream. The trick for me was the blend the heck out of the sucker!

1/4 ricotta cheese

1 tbls all natural peanut butter

1/2 tsp vanilla

1 1/2 packet of splenda

Nuts (optional)

Blend (I used a Handy chopper)... oh my! I feel like I have been offered the world! It's almost like chowing down on a light mousse! woo hoo!
