Hello everyone-

Thought I would pop in and wish everyone a great weekend! What is everyone up to this weekend and what challenges do you face? Do you find it easier, harder or the same to follow the SBD lifestyle over the weekend? Have a great one!

Our weekend plans:

Today is Homecoming in our small community. We will either go out to eat before the football game or possibly go to a communtiy sponsored tailgate party here. I will probably be o.k.at the game as far as snacks, etc are concerned-will be concentrating more on staying warm! I am invited out for coffee this a.m.-I always get a latte made with skim and no gains show up on my scale.

Tomorrow it is early morning soccer games for both my kids and then I am hoping to do some shopping in the afternoon. No Sat. night plans.

Sunday will be coffee out with Dh and then church. Our usual plan is to hit Pizza Hut buffet after church. I have been doing well there as I just get the salad bar and stay away from the pizza, and breadsticks.

Weekends are harder for me especially trying to get all my water in and the fact that we usually are around more restaurants than during the week. I hang on by knowing that Monday is my official weigh-in day! LOL.

I will also try to get some exercise everyday-usually I just walk on the weekends. I would like to get to the gym today, but not sure if it will happen since school is dismissed early and there is the Homecoming festivities going on all day too.

I'm with you. The weekends are the hardest for me. I just started on Tuesday. But on any diet it is just hard on weekends. The kids are around. More take-out food and snacks and I really prefer not to cook. So dinner out all the time. I miss wine with dinner most on the weekends. Weekdays are okay with real busy schedules, but we try to relax on the weekend and try not to schedule too much. But, hang in there. It pays off when you weigh in. Thin feels better.

I have an especially tough weekend coming up-will be spending the weekend at my boyfriend's house in NY-he still lives with his mom and I know she will want to cook for us-don't know whether I should mention the diet to her or just eat what she makes??? I will only have to worry about breakfast Sat. morning and maybe lunch on Sunday, as we are staying at a hotel in Manhattan Sat. night. Another challenge will be going out with friends Sat. night-I know I will want to drink a lot! But I'll try to keep to red wine or martinis. Maybe if I'm lucky, they'll have that "Thin Ice", which has only 1 carb.-I think it's OK for the plan! Hopefully I can be good, I go leave for a trip to Jamaica in 1wk! Have to wear a bathing suit :(

It sounds like you have the restraint you need to do the smartest things over the weekend. You've been managing so far during the week, and you already seem to have a plan to get through much of what's going to be happening.

Do you like Mexican food? DH and I went out for Tex-Mex in the middle of Phase I; I ate exactly 12 chips with salsa, and fajitas without all the stuff except I ate lots of pico de gallo and some guacamole. I asked DH to put the chips on the empty chair at our table so I wouldn't keep going back to the basket. No damage on the scale the next day.

Just watch out for "mindless" eating and you'll be fine.

Good luck!
