One Day Down!

What a wonderful day it was! I was not the least bit hungry. I enjoyed every bite of every meal, and I felt very, very good.

Question--are there restrictions on sugar-free candies? I see that they are allowed, but I saw the sugar free hershey's chocolate and reese's peanut butter cups at the store today, and I thought they might be too much for phase one!

I stayed totally within the allowed items on the list for today and feel like I ate better than I have in a long, long time.

I had a grilled tuna steak with spicy peanut sauce for dinner. (What a diet!)

How did it go for the other newbies?

Hope you all had a good day too.

Hi, Kim - I remember a few of your posts from over on the Fit Over 40 board. Congratulations on making it past Day 1. You expressed a lot of the same feelings I had after the first day about not being hungry at all. Once you pass the third day, I think, you'll feel like you can follow this plan for the rest of your life. All you have to do is stick with it, and it'll be easy to do because you won't feel hungry all the time.

Good luck - welcome to the Beach!

Day 1 - Food wise I made out ok but I don't know if it was caffeine and sugar withdrawal or what but I had a headache, felt tired, etc. I feel better this morning. Hopefully just a matter of getting those things out of my system. Day 2 - here I come.

HI Kim...

Well, I did well on my first day too...I am excited but praying I do not hit a wall (that no weigh comes off). As far as the sugar free candies, I personally stay away from them because they do have a lot of carbs and I have my mind set to stay away from an *almost* dangerous food. That is just me though....

If you have a sweet tooth, try the Atkins ice cream cups (4grams of carbs). Also, my FAVORITE is Redi Whip in Chocolate. It is GREAT and kills the cravings.

Good luck and keep me posted...

75 calories is the limit for sweets. I think each sugar free hershey's has 34 calories in it. I have one dark chocolate and it's all I need to curb the craving. Go for it unless you think you'll eat more:)

Well, I stay in the 20 grams of carbs a day...still following the SBD but I did not think Redi Whip was a NO NO....

The ice cream that Atkins offers is good an has 100 calories. That is still a no no too? Oh Lord ASER, what am I gonna do? I do not have the book so I guess I am learning as I go...

Tahnks for your help...

Just remember, dairy can be added back after phase 1... whipped cream and ice cream, but cheese, ricotta, ff half and half is all right. It's a wild food equation.

Do you have the food list? I received my information from my sister, and I did get the book. I was frustrated because I wasn't sure how the heck this WOE worked. However, after doing lots of online research, joining here, and knowing it wasn't a quick fix, I was able to adjust and go from there. Try Hippodamia.com, get the food lists, and use those to guide you until you get your book. Redi whip is dairy as is ice cream. Just think of how great that ice cream will taste in two weeks!

Staying with 20 carbs a day? This is SBD, not atkins. There isn't a limit to good carbs. Beans! YUM. lol. I need to read all the posts and then respond to them point by point. Maraconn, you are probably tired of reading what I post! I'll try harder next time!

Atkins VS SBD... similar but different. Use as your lifestyle provides. Modify as needed. However, if atkins users are going for 20 carbs a day in induction, then do so. If you are a SBD, then don't count carbs. It's all good!

happy eating!

RIA...

I am not tired of your posts, bring them on...

I think I am still in the Atkins mode....

NO whip creme or 1/2 and 1/2? OH JESUS!

I have some print outs for SBD but not the book...I will have to study more I guess...

Thanks...
