Here is a typical grocery list for me and DH. The chicken wings would be hard to give up but I'm curious how you would alter the other items on the list.. Which need to be eliminated and which would you modify with a lower fat version?

Omega-3 hard-boiled eggs

Bacon

Natural Peanut Butter

Chili Lime or Spicy Buffalo Chicken Wings (not breaded)

Chicken Thighs with skin

Boneless, skinless chicken breasts

Ground Beef

Lean Steaks

Chunk Light Tuna – Sweet & Spicy flavored

String Cheese

Classic Melts Cheddar Cheese

Mozzarella cheese

Sour Cream

Whipping Cream

Cream Cheese

Full Fat Mayonnaise

Raw Spinach Leaves

Bell Peppers

Cucumbers

Tomatoes

Onions

Broccoli

Cauliflower

Spaghetti Squash

Mushrooms

Zucchini

Black Olives

Avacado

thanks!

There is a list under another discussion here --- Have some news for you Phase 1 is the title of the discussion. There is a link to an updated version of the allowable foods in Phase 1 -- that way you could expand your list with the things you like

In my opinion, do what you think is best. I was pretty by the book on Phase 1 for the most part :) These are just suggestions, and what might work for me, might not be all that great for you. If you keep in mind that everyone has had their trial and error until they found what was right for them. Here we go!

Omega-3 hard-boiled eggs

<< Egg Beaters work well too>>

Bacon

<< I used Gauntley 50% Bacon in the micro>>

Natural Peanut Butter

<< I used the ground kind from the deli where you can watch. try cashew or almond butter too. YUM!>>

Chili Lime or Spicy Buffalo Chicken Wings (not breaded)

Chicken Thighs with skin

Boneless, skinless chicken breasts

<<< I don't have my book with me, but in P1, I think you only allowed Boneless, Skinless Chicken Breasts. It's only for two weeks>>>

Ground Beef

<<4% Ground beef>>

Lean Steaks

<< 4-6 oz>>

Chunk Light Tuna – Sweet & Spicy flavored

String Cheese

Classic Melts Cheddar Cheese

Mozzarella cheese

<< Some say unleaded. Some say leaded. I used both>>

Sour Cream

Whipping Cream

Cream Cheese

Full Fat Mayonnaise

<< Try using the ff dill veggie dip from T. Mazaritti... is that how you spell it... good taste and makes tuna salad with a zing!>>

Raw Spinach Leaves

Bell Peppers

Cucumbers

Tomatoes

Onions

Broccoli

Cauliflower

Spaghetti Squash

<< Still want to try this>>

Mushrooms

Zucchini

Black Olives

Avacado

Do you have the book yet? Great you are doing your research! I became frustrated because I didn't understand things. I asked questions of my sister, but until I got INTO the meat << no pun intended>> of issues, I started to have fun. I am now down 12. 5 since 9.8.

Happy Eating!

Thanks for all your suggestions. I'm going to try and lighten up my atkins menu a bit and try the SBD Phase 1. I'll let you know how it works for me. Thanks!
