Good Afternoon,

I am posting this ONLY if it works for you. . If you are looking for a treat, and you need something, try 1 Halloween pack size of Reece's pieces. I keep them in my house on the top shelf of the closet in my kitchen. If I need something different, I'll go for this. Only 1 small pack will leave you satisfied. This is especially great for non-chocolate people. JMHO

I was smacked on the hand for posting this on atkins. I figured someone could use it. Guess not. lol. I didn't have time this afternoon to post due to teacher phone calls. SO, here it is. PLEASE remember, this is for those who want it. Thanks!

Here's one even better (no sugar).

Asher's makes chocolate bars that are only 1.3 g. net effective carbs. These really work because I'm diabetic and my blood sugar does not rise. I have tried liquid caramel filled milk chocolate and pecan & caramel bar. Both are yummy! However, I don't plan to make a practice of using them because I'm afraid of getting addicted to this wonderful flavor.

Online at www.ashers.com/store/. I found them at a local store called Sugarless Delite.

Enjoy!

I promise! These taste so "real" you'll never believe they aren't off the candy counter shelf. The chocolate's real thick and creamy. You could have fooled me!

Ria, I've had my hand slapped over there too. Don't let it bother you.

De-lurked to say that I'm happy to see that you finally recieved some positive responses, Ria! Feel bad that you went through all that over at the Atkins board. It was so obvious to me that you were just sharing a discovery with those that would be interested. Oh well. You guys here seem to hang pretty well. I'll have to lurk more often!

What are Net Effective carbs? How are they different from regular carbs? Are they the "good" kind?

thanks

Net effective carbs are carbs that do effect your blood sugar.

A lot of the products out there list 20 grams of carbs

18 grams of sugar alchohols (which do not cause

the rise in blood sugar levels

2 grams of effective carbs which if you are

counting grams of carbs (which you don't do

on SBD) you would count as they do affect

blood sugar. They are not necessarily the

"good" kind.

Hope this helps.

Just looked up Asher's website and although the bars are low carb, remember that they are not fat-free! There was 11g of fat in one bar.... Just an FYI.
