How long have you been on South Beach? I've on the beach since 9.8.03

How long did you spend in each phase? Phase one about 3 weeks, phase 1 1/2 about 1 week phase 2, well two weeks. If it doesn't add up, everyone can see what i mean.lol

How much weight have you lost? 14.5 lbs and losing.... hopefull!

Did you lose inches first? heck yea!

Did you exercise? yeppers.

If so, what did you do? Run, pilates, elliptical, treadmill, floor stretching and ab

I attend Fitness Express for Women. I was inseminated yesterday, so I'll go back to my fitness center on Monday.

Well, I can't answer this. Right now I'm wondering how I'm going to live without all my favorite foods. LOL!

I'm new, on Day 2 of Phase 1.

My overall goal is to lose 20 pounds.

I am exercising. I am a Video Queen. I have Minna Lessig, Cathe Friedrich, Kathy Smith & Julie Upton in my corner. A picture of myself in excellent form keeps me motivated.

A food I can't be successful without ? Umm, probably spinach. I love it and it always makes me feel healthy after I've eaten it.

I walk....I do at least 3 miles with Walk Away the Pounds video and usually a good 2-3 miles outdoors!

I love those Walk Away The Pounds tapes. I can't stand Leslie Sansone, but I do like the tapes. I haven't done them in a long time because the marching ends up bothering my knees. Maybe when I lose some weight, I'll do the WATP tapes the days I don't go to Fitness Express.

Current Phase? Phase 2ish

How long have you been on South Beach? 3.5 weeks

How long did you spend in each phase? 2 weeks on the first phase. I've been on a modified 1st phase for 1.5 weeks. That is, Phase 1 with the stuff I was dying for added back in -- wine and a breakfast I didn't have to cook (lite yogurt or bran cereal) .

How much weight have you lost? 10 lbs.

Did you lose inches first? Yes

Did you exercise? Yes

If so, what did you do? I go to Curves 3x/week.

A food you couldn't have been successful without? Mashed cauliflower early on to get past the cravings for potatoes...Fudgsicles the whole time.

For those new to the diet ... It is true: the cravings really do subside after a few days. My major weakness is sweet baked things -- brownies, cookies, etc. In my first week on the diet it seemed that someone brought in a fresh baked treat to share at work every day. It killed me the first few days, but after that I could deal with it.

Currently in Wk 2 of Ph II

Spent almost 3 wks in Ph I; started Ph II 10-3-03

Have lost 10 lb

I don't measure inches lost, but something definitely went away and nothing shifted to a new location!

I exercise, but not as intensively in Ph I. Back to normal now.

Treadmill, weight machines and freeweights, abs, couple of yoga moves/stretches

Food that got me through - huumus and cucumbers,.

Current Phase? Phase 2

How long have you been on South Beach? 5.5 weeks - since 9/2

How long did you spend in each phase? 2 weeks in Phase 1, the rest slowly adding Phase 2 items. Milk the first day - love lattes with milk, even if it's skim milk. Fruit 1/2 week into Phase 2. Fiber - I'm still afraid to try actual bread, but I've have wheat berries and oatmeal.

How much weight have you lost? YAY, I've lost 12 lbs, 8 on Phase 1 and 4 on Phase 2.

Did you lose inches first? Well, I neglected to take starting measurements. I know I've lost inches now, but I didn't even try on any formerly tight in the waist clothes until I had lost some pounds.

Did you exercise? Yes, but I always have done so.

If so, what did you do? I run 1/2 hour 5 days a week, walk 40 min. the other two days and I use a bowflex machine 3 times a week. Now that the weather is getting nicer (cool enough) I'm adding a 30 min bicycle ride a couple evenings a week.

A food you couldn't have been successful without? Wow, I just love that eggplant mixed with red pepper and baked with olive oil drizzled over it. I can forget potatoes if I have that. Something about the texture satisfies me just as much as if I had a potato. And the leftovers, mixed with eggs, make a frittata or omelet that can't be beat! I also have to mention lowfat string cheese - a very satifying snack.
