Day 2 and I've already blown it

The menu plans list non-fat milk in coffee or tea every day. The only other reference to milk I found in the book is that non-fat is acceptable. When I couldn't find any sugar-free jello in my pantry (I swear I had some), I made sugar-free pudding instead (and wouldn't you know, I stumbled on the jello last night). Now I discover that I'm to avoid all dairy during Phase 1 (I wonder why the menu plans contradict that). Grrr! Is it really all that bad? Have I doomed myself to repeating the first two days? LOL! Thanks!

Hi,

I don't think you blew it. Did you eat all the servings of the pudding? Don't worry about it, just go on with Phase 1. It could not have done that much damage. Good Luck!

Um, I think I did. LOL! I didn't mix the pudding very well and only had enough for five cups instead of the usual eight. Except for the one DH had last night, I enjoyed them all. Mmmm, butterscotch. LOL! But, I am determined to not let this sidetrack me. I will keep on. Now for the ultimate temptation: a day with Mom tomorrow.

Just continue on and see how you do at the end of the two weeks. If you feel like you need more time, go another week. The cool thing is, even though there are phases, there aren't any hard fast rules. Make it work for you. IF you exercise, you'll be surprised how that will counteract the mistakes:)

Good Luck

Hi, I have been on the South Beach Diet along with the glycemic index for a while, not for weightloss (even though I need to lose alot of weight), but to help lower my cholestrol. As long as the milk was 1% or skim you are okay. Phase 1 is only for the rapid weight loss period, you really don't even have to do that Phase if you are having a really hard time with it. By using Phase 2,in 8 weeks I lost 14 pounds and my cholestrol had dropped by 16 points, so it does work! If you like desserts the Ricotta cheese recipes are really good. Good Luck and don't give up.
