Still holding on at three pounds.

This is WAR! This fat is more stubborn than I realized.

I am hanging in here though for the rest of the week. I've got six days to go after today until phase II.

My husband started the diet today.

See you later beach pals!

Kimmie - Fight the good fight! Fat is stubborn; I think it has a mind of its own. I stuck with Phase I for almost a full additional week hoping to see a double-digit loss. It didn't happen, but I found that I didn't get crazy with cravings for all the stuff responsible for that "belly fat" and fat everywhere else - the cravings seem to be gone for good.

Please don't get discouraged if your hubby loses more, faster - men do; their metabolisms are tuned differently in general. Just help each other through it.

Are you working out? You could be building muscle.

Good luck. Hang tough!

Hey Kim,

I can totally relate! I am down 2.5 lbs for my first week...I'm happy that the scale went down, but I was hoping for something a bit more than 2.5 friggin' pounds, LOL!

I am feeling really good and my main reason for doing this is to feel good and get my cholesterol in check, so I shouldn't be too discouraged...and neither should you!

My hubby has been so impressed with how I am sticking to the plan and not feeling hungry or deprived that he is starting it today.

Just keep your great attitude and you will do fine!

Thanks Donna And Susan,

Yes, I am doing WATP every day!

This is one diet the husbands seem to want to try.

Do you think it is just a way to get us cooking their breakfasts? LOL!

I am in for the long haul. The only way I will quit this is if I actually start to gain.

Thanks for the encouragement.

Love ya!

Hang in there! You've got the motivation...it's obvious in your posts. You might find after you add a few good carbs, you'll get yourself off that sticking point. You are eating enought right? post a menu and maybe someone can help you pinpoint what's going on.

Don't get discouraged.

Ask yourself some other questions --- do you feel more energy, do you feel in control of what you are eating --- if the answers are yes, then you are definitely having success.

Are you eating enough. I found that when I did not eat enough --- last weekend I was on a clinical rotation and I really did not have enough time to eat breakfast and my snacks and my weight loss kind of ground to a halt. Monday --- I went back to eating more and my weight loss picked right up.

Thanks Ellen, Runnermom, and all...

Typical day Breakfast: 2 eggs scrambled in Smart Balance, either one slice canadian bacon or low-fat cheese, 6 oz v-8 juice

Snack : String Cheese

Typical Lunch: 1/2 cup hummus w/ raw cucumbers, peppers, snow peas, and celery

snack : 15 cashews or almonds

Dinner : Turkey breast, steamed broccoli

dessert: no-sugar-added fudgesicle

I also eat sugar - free creme savers and drink some diet pop and decaf coffee.

I think I am just going to take a little longer to lose weight than I used to. I am kind of bloated and getting some IBS symptoms, which is not unusual for me when I make a change in my eating habits.

Any way, thanks for the words of encouragement. I was totally on program today and plan to stay there.

I still love the beach.

Hi Kim!

Are you drinking lots of water? I am a big water drinker normally but I have been trying to do at least 3L of water per day, sometimes 4L if I can. It really helps to keep you full and is so good for you! If you have problems drinking that much, start with 1L and work your way up!

My 2 cents...You may not be eating enough. Breakfast and snack looks greatI would add some protein at lunch---meat and cheese roll ups are good or chicken (or tuna) salad made with lite or regular mayo. Dinner---add some beans or another veggie. See if you can get some celery and peanut butter in there or cauliflower and ranch dip. You'll be surprised how not getting the calories can slow your loss.

Good Luck!

Thanks Everyone for the great suggestions and support!

I am doing OK. I feel good. I am not hungry. My clothes are getting looser, even if the scale is not moving very quickly. I have eaten some kind of beans or legumes every day for the last three days. They are very satisfying and help me to feel more balanced.

I am enjoying this diet and this discussion board.
