I was reading some of the board.. I have noticed that there aren't many who have been on sbd long. Why??? I know why I can't do Atkins... it is the same with sbd??
Great first month or two and then nothing!!! Stale>>>>>>>>>>

I belong to the SBD official web site and there are tons of people who have been on it since July or so, but not a real lot previous ---although there are some success stores of 100 or so lbs. loss.
I don't think this way of eating is just a flash in the pan.
Ellen :)
I agree with Ellen that SBD wasn't popular until the summer when it came out in prevention. I think that's when they ran their story.

I've been on the Beach since mid August, and I've lost 18 pounds--and kept them off! Nothing previous had worked, so I was very excited. I'm in Phase 3 now, and eat off the Diet sometimes. However, I get right back on it when I am home, and my weight is
I've been on SBD since August 18th. I have lost 14 lbs & have absolutely no problem maintaining. I came to this board before I started & there a quite a few people who have been on longer than me. Hopefully they have succeeded and just aren't posting! I love this "Way of Life" So much that I've encouraged 7 people to start this diet & they are all doing great so far. I also have 2 friends who went on SBD & DID NOT like it at all. Everyone is different! I think that if you are a "Carb Addict" you may not do so well becuz it's like detoxing your body if you will. I ate very little carbs so it doesn't affect me at all. Regardless, SBD has to work for you and you only!
Good Luck

So right you are, CC. I was over for dinner at a relative's home the other night. I went ahead and ate the prepared meal of boneless, skinless chicken breasts (lightly seasoned), carrots, white rice, and french bread (I refrained from eating the bread). A few months ago, I would have thought that was a really healthy meal, but now, well...!!
At an earlier meal, my sister's father-in-law and I were talking about eating. He has diabetes and is starting to have some hardening of the arteries. He said that his doctor was suggesting he eat similar to the way I was talking about the SBD, because it would be good for him and maybe help him change his blood chemistry. He suggested that his doctor must be reading my book.
I've decided that when I am out, I'll stick to the diet as much as possible, but I won't insult other people's cooking by refusing to eat it (unless I'm plain allergic to it...that is a different story, and I fell very comfortable not eating things that will make me sick due to allergies!).
