Amount allowed for seeds on Phase I
| Tue, 10-14-2003 - 9:39am |
Hello Everyone:
I am on day three of Phase I. I noticed that pumpkin seeds and sunflower seeds are allowed on the diet. Since nuts are given daily amounts, how many seeds am I allowed to eat? Or, are they an 'unlimited' food like lean chicken, lettuce, etc.?
Also, if dairy products aren't allowed, am I restricted from using cream in cooking or coffee?
Thanks!
Tara

Just my two cents - I don't know the amount of seeds for sure - but I would stick with a portion size. My bag of sunflower seeds says 1/4 cup in one serving. That sounds about right. Remember, nuts and seeds do have fat.
Also, fat-free creamers are allowed in your coffee during Phase 1. But in Phase 2 you may have low fat dairy including Fat-free half and half and evaporated skim milk for recipes.
Hope this helps.
