In the past when I have tried to do a low carb diet, I experienced severe muscle cramps. This would include cramping in my chest muscles. I would also get heart palpitations the first few days. Do you need to take any type of supplements, like potassium during Phase I besides the Omega 3 supplements? I have had a heart stress test done, and everything has come back normal, so I am thinking it has something to do with an electrolyte imbalance while in ketosis. I'm a little uneasy to start the diet.

Many people experience muscle cramps in their legs on this diet. Dr. A. says to drink more water if you are getting muscle cramps. He also says that this diet does not put you into ketosis. I find it to be a healthy way of eating and something I can really stick to. I am in Week 3 and having no trouble sticking with this. Good luck if you decide to join us on the beach.
