Even Dr. A. says it is ok, but no longer than 4 weeks. The caution about staying on Phase I for too long is that many people become bored with the more limited food choices. Also transition to Phase 2 and then Phase 3 is important to long term weight control, since it will become difficult for an individual to maintain Phase I for long periods of time.
