from Atkins to SBD

HiYas,
I've been doing Atkins for bout 5 months and I've started looking into SBD. I was wondering, since I've already detoxed by doing atkins, what kind of results could I expect by switching to SBD? I'm guessing not the 13 lbs in 2 weeks that a person would lose when coming from poorer eating habits (i.e. high carbs). Also, I tend to be a slow loser if that would make a difference.

I've started reading the book and plan to start SBD once I've read the whole thing. Any helpful tips for a newbie would also be welcome.
TIA

As far as the weight loss goes --- everyone is so individual --- it would be hard to even hazard a guess :).
As far as tips goes --- you probably have a lot of them down pat from doing Atkins --- like planning to make sure you always have something that you can eat with you, add carbs back slowly to see how your body reacts with cravings.
Are you planning on starting with Phase 1 or just go to Phase 2?
Ellen
I was planning on starting at Phase 1 since I still have 41 lbs to go. WHat I know about SBD so far I like. On Atkins, I've started to lower my calories and go more low fat cuz I was stalled for 2 and a half months. Then it occurred to me that I may almost be doing SBD so I want to learn more about it. Plus there are a few things that I really missed on Atkins, like my grapefruit and chick peas. Those things are ok on SBD, right?
I'm looking forward to getting to know you girls and more of this plan.

I'm a 100% fan of SBD. I'm into Ph II and expect another 1 lb loss on weigh-in Friday. I'm eating healthier than ever and I'm never hungry. I'm adding the Phase I prohibited foods back very slowly and trying to pay attention to their effects. Added steel-cut oats, whole-grain bread, apples and sweet potatoes so far (although the apples and sweet potatoes are smaller than what I used to eat).
In Phase I of SBD, no fruit, at all! Including grapefruit. But Phase I is only 2 weeks long, and once you're past the first 3 or 4 days without the "wrong" carbs, you're likely to be able to see Phase I through to the end. Chickpeas - I believe they're allowed. Hummus became one of my favorite snack foods during Phase I, so I'd say go for it; the fats in hummus are healthy - check the labels on the commercial brands to make sure, or find a good recipe and make your own using olive oil and sesame oil as your fats.
Good luck; hope to see you on the Beach soon!
