No cravings - No, not after a few days. Most of us are tough enough to wait it out.

No exercise - Well, Dr. A doesn't push it, but some of us do it anyway. I lost more weight on Phase I of SBD with less intense workouts than I did in 6 months of points counting on WW and killing myself working out.

No forbidden foods - No, not permanently, and it's up to us to use our heads and pick the better choices most of the time. The bad stuff is "allowed"; you have to figure out for yourself if you want to "allow" yourself to keep making less-than intelligent choices or make the smarter choice.

Anyone else?

I totally agree with you. It's absolutely silly to think that one can lose weight without doing anything. In fact, study after study states that a diet program without an exercise program is doomed to fail. The first couple of weeks of the South Beach diet sound like the eating program of someone in Ethopia! Who ever heard that fruits and vegetables, especially carrots are bad for you. This is sheer nonsense.

I just lost 12 pounds after reading a book called, Flip the Switch by Jim Karas. The author took 25 pounds off of Diane Sawyer and Oprah Winfrey's best friend, Gayle King. The eating stressed fruitsand vegetables and strength and resistance exercise. He made a believer out of me, and I stress, I was never hungry.

I was thinking of a snarky reply, but thought why sink to the same level?

Hey, there's snarky for you....

Do your research! Spend $18 smart dollars and read the book. Or go to the library if $18 is a stretch.

We eat veggies, and loads of them. If you're going to criticize, get your facts straight.

I think 2 weeks of not eating any fruits would kill you, if you think so then start investing in some life insurance. I did Atkins about 4 years ago and I am alive and they make you eat fat, fat, fat. This is smart and consists of some slight effort and patience. Ha! (sorry) had to do that.

Ladies,

Sounds to me like we might a sabateur in our midst. It's all right. The good doc does mention alittle about excersise in his book. I think it was something like 20 minutes a day. However, like everything in life, you can make modifications. I don't like telling people to "read the book," but if you would like some facts and ideas regarding the SBD, ask someone. We're all pretty helpful. However, attacking something someone does and has found works for them is not the best way to start. Take care.

Cheers!

"I think 2 weeks of not eating any fruits would kill you"

Aren't you on SBD or thinking of starting? One of the rules in Phase I, for 2 weeks: No fruit!

I'm sitting here LOL. I know there's someone out there trying to push buttons. Consider mine pushed. I get challenged all day by so many people who know a little but run their mouths so much it'll make your head spin. Now I just speak up when I feel like someone's being a J$%^A&&. Maybe I come off the same way. So be it. Not everyone's gonna love me! I can deal!

Still LOL!
