2 pound loss after 6 days - normal?

Hi All - My husband and I both started the South Beach Diet 6 days ago. We were each about 10 pounds over-weight. It may not sound like much but for us (small-boned ectomorphs) it really made a difference. My husband carries it all in his tummy and I carry it in my tummy and hips. And this 10 pounds has been really hard to lose on our own! Anyway, after 6 days, we have each lost 2 pounds. This seems fine to us since we are thinking that, proportionally, it makes sense. That is, if someone who starts out being 50 pounds overweight loses 6 or 7 pounds the first week, then perhaps our 2 pound weight loss is in line with that. Just wondering if this makes sense to all of you.

Thanks!!!

You've got it right ----- for most people, the less you have to lose, the slower it comes off.

Unlike someone like me who has 60 -70 lbs to lose when I started --- I lost like 7 or 8 lbs. the first week.

Good luck --- sounds like you are off to a great start.

Thanks! I weighed myself again today (can't help weighing myself everyday - it's fun!) and I lost a little more weight. Then I tried on several pairs of pants that, a week ago, were quite small on me. Amazingly, I could get into all of them! This is wonderful - it really works!
