I agree!! This is the BEST treat my Hubby and I have had so far on this plan! I topped ours with fat free whipped topppning and some chopped pecans! Just like pumpkin pie without the crust. LOVE this stuff!

Hi Karen,

The recipe is listed in the recipe section as "P2 - October treat".

Enjoy!

I still can't find the pumpkin treat recipe. Are you referring to the book or is there a web site?

Hi,

I know it can be difficult to find things sometimes. I have that problem quite often.

It is on this website. Right on the same page that you entered into this string. If you scroll down the page, you pass General Discussion, then Introduction, the next section is Phase 1 and then Phase 2 and finally the Recipe section. Right now it is the first topic in that section. The title is P2-October Treat. I don't mind just posting this again here if you can't find it. Let me know.

Has anyone done a workup of the carb content of this? I know its for diabetics but whoa! I calculated 17 net carbs for an 8serving recipe. I suppose it's better than most recipes for dessert and if you add nuts it would lower the glycemic index. I was wondering if anyone else had any thought.

I'm in phase2 so any others feel weary about this recipe? If not, help me feel better about eating it, please! It's so good!

I had it for my dessert at dinner last night and after lunch today; I didn't notice being ravenously hungry this morning, nor did I feel a big drop in energy or a boost in hunger when it was time for my afternoon snack. I think the fiber in it helped to fill me up.

It might affect others differently, but my thoughts about it are: I like it, and I'm eating it anyway!

Me too:) I was thinking about why this would work for diabetics (it was a diabetic dessert in Prevention) and it clicked with me. we forget that it's not standard for diabetics to use the glycemic index. When I spoke with a nutritionist while I was pregnant to determine what I should eat, she just had me count carbs. I could have 50 at meals and 25 at snacks. So I'll remember this when the time comes for baby number two. It is so good!
