Hello,

I started the south beach diet on Monday, October 20. So far so good. I haven't cheated well at least I don't think I have. I was wondering if Salami and Hot dogs were allowed? Can anyone help me and provide me with is answer? I hope I can do this this successfully. Today I am having major chocolate cravings. I gave all the choclate in my house to my coworker. haha. Well good luck everyone and keep up the good work.

Thank You,

Nicole

Hello --- glad to hear you are doing well with this WOE.

In regards to salami and hotdogs --- it is recommended that you stay away from highly processed, high fat meats/deli. So to answer, no salami and hotdogs aren't really good for this WOE.

However, that being said, in regards to hotdogs, Hebrew National lo fat hotdogs are not too bad in regards to having a quick meal. They have very little fat and are made from all beef, however, they still have additives in them, so this might be a once in a while

type meal.

This is just my opinion on the above named hot dog.

Hope this helps.

Salami and Hot Dogs are usually fatty cuts of meat so, I know its not allowed in Phase 1. I started the diet on October 27th and I am feeling terrible. I will stick to this because its totally a doable diet but I am so fatigued. Have you experienced this also?

I'm pretty sure a lot of us did feel some sort of tiredness, fatigue, and overall ickyness. My sister didn't but I did and some others. It'll pass in the next couple of days so hang in there.

Hi chellb, I started on the 27th, too (kinda started on the weekend, but really started on Monday).
