Diet Soda

I've been on Carb Addicts for 10 days now- it has not been easy. I got the book, followed it to the letter, and now I go on their web-site and read "NO DIET SODA" I am devastated, have these past 10 days been for nothing?). I am ready to lose weight but I am not entirely ready to give up diet soda yet.

So my question is (before I go spend the money on the South Beach book)....

Can I have diet soda on this diet?

YESYESYES!!!!! But the trick is to limit the caffeine you take in daily. So if you're going to have your morning coffee with Splenda or Equal or whatever and Fat Free Half and Half (Land O Lakes) be sure to get caffeine free soda. It's been my life saver!

I drink Diet Rite Cola, it does not have any caffeine, carbs, sodium, or calories; and best of all, it is made with Splenda!! I love it!!

Diet 7up is surprisingly really good, too. I do miss Pepsi though.

I have to say that I have tried a lot of diet soda's and the one I found to be the best if you like Root Beer is A&W Diet Root Beer. It is so close to the real thing I was impressed. Also it is naturally caffeine free! It is quite a treat!

Diet Dr. Pepper tastes virtually like regular Dr. Pepper. I've never tasted a diet drink that is so close to ones with sugar. That being said, any soft drinks cause more acidosis in your body than just about any substance you could ingest.

Hi Jackie,

I haven't been online for a couple of days and just saw your post.

It says on the can that Diet Rite Cola is canned by the American Bottling Company under the authority of Dr. Pepper Seven Up, Inc., Plano, Texas.

Try going to http://www.dietrite.com

or for consumer comments call 1-866-DTRITESODA.

I buy it at the grocery store, I have not seen it at Wall Mart.

I hope you can find it!
