I really had a urge for bacon this morning. Luckly I got so busy at work I didn't have time to go to the cafeteria, so I ended up eating my 2 eggs from home. But I was wondering, what's the GI on bacon? Could a person on SBD have some bacon, say maybe once a week and be ok?

TIA

According to the book, and it's listed as an allowed breakfast meat, turkey bacon is the way to go. And let me tell you that it's pretty darned tasty and low in fat! I think the brand we have is Oscar Mayer.

Bacon... ahhhh... I love it! My sister loves it as well. We both use realy bacon (a hush falls over the crowd), but we use the Gauntley Lean Bacon cooked in the mic and anywhere between 2-4 pieces. We've both lost over 15 lbs, and we are still steadily losing. This SBD WOE is awesome to live by for what works for you.

Another good turkey bacon is the Butterball thin sliced turkey bacon. It gets crispier than other turkey bacon that I have had. It also tastes more like regular bacon. Just a thought....

You're also allowed to have Canadian bacon!

I've been eating Oscar Mayer Center Cut bacon since Phase 1, and I've lost 21 pounds. The Center Cut bacon is advertised to contain 33% less fat than regular bacon. The pieces are slightly smaller (but shrink less, too, with less fat. I cook it on my George Foreman grill, and
