Hello ladies:

I'm starting SBD next week and I'm a little nervous...I'd really like to find a support buddy to exchange motivation and ideas with. Newbies and experienced SBD'ers welcome :-)

Anyone interested please post a reply.

Thanks!

How Shan --- how are you?

I have been doing SBD since 9/8. I have lost 17 1/2 lbs and 11 in. I am also feeling better than I have in a long time about my eating.

I would be honored to be one of your buddies :)!!!! It is great to have support and motivation.

Hello and Welcome!

This is a great community. We are all your buddies and supporters. I am usually on-line in the evening after 8:00 or 9:00 PM. I like to check in and read the posts every night and I usually post about how I am doing too.

I am up for e-mailing support too, if you like.

I have been on SBD since October 6.

I love it.

Good luck to you.

Hi SBDers...

I'm heading out to the supermarket in a few minutes to shop for my "first week." A friend of mine at work and I are doing this together and we're going to alternate days for cooking and bringing in our food to work. This means each of us only has to fuss in the kitchen "every other night."

I have a feeling once we start this at work and co-workers see what we're doing, we'll have more people wanting to join in. If so, that'll be cool because then we'll get to eat the SBD menu every day and cook less often. When it's my turn to prepare, I'll just need to prepare more, but not necessarily spend more time. In the long run, this co-op cooking idea will save each of us money just due to the nature of cooking for more than one person.

If anyone else is participating in a co-op cooking plan, I'd love to hear how it's working out. I'll certainly post from time to time and let you all know how we're doing!

Keep up the good work, and keep dropping those pounds/losing those inches :-)

Hi all,

I posted on "Doubts, Pickiness, and Convenience" if you want to read there... but I am starting tomorrow. I cooked ahead of time for lunch tomorrow, so I am all prepared. I did my grocery shopping today, too. I am guessing that once I show good results, everyone I know will want to start the SBD!

Anyways, I am putting together a "support" e-mail list thing. You can e-mail me at SouthBeachLaw@hotmail.com (because I am a law student). I promise not to abuse your e-mail address (I will NOT give it out or spam you in any way), and if you want out, I will give you out :)

Best of luck to all of you... this is the beginning of a good journey!

Take care,

Becca

Thank you ladies!

I'm so glad I'll be having some support through this. I have two roommates, neither of whom are doing SBD on their own. The good thing is that I do almost all of the cooking around here...so they'll be doing SBD for dinner and leftover lunches whether they want to or not :-)

Which brings me to my first question...I take it that it's ok not to follow the meal plan exactly as long as everything you're eating is on the "safe list", right? I don't eat red meat, so I'm planning to substitute the chicken or fish dishes then. Also, I'm easing my way into it because of traveling this week and trying to eat within the Phase 2 before I start P1 next week when I come home. So last night I was going to have the chicken and stir fry, but I just couldn't bring myself to eat it without rice so I made it into a chicken and vegetable soup. Do any of you have any thoughts on modifying/inventing recipes from the OK foods list?

Thanks again for the support!

Did you get started this week as you planned?

Hi Shan.

I did not use one menu at all so far for SBD ---- the meals just did not appeal to me.

I just use the allowable food lists and go from there.

Some people find they like the regiment of the daily food menus, others don't, there is no

right way --- just what works for you and follows the allowable foods.
