So FRUSTRATED w/ myself

I started P1 last Wednesday and did really well for 2 days, and although I'm not supposed to, I weighed and had already lost 3 pounds. However, since then, I start the day pretty well, but lose will power and end up making poor choices. I am so frustrated with myself that I am giving into my cravings. The fudgcicles, jello, and hard candies are not tying me over. Any suggestions? Thanks!

Congrats on the 3 lbs, you'll get there the craving will eventually stop but until they do,how about string cheese or cottage cheese with S/F spreadable fruit on it. Some times I have to eat protein to feel satisfied. You can have a handful of nuts also. Hope that helped.Hugs Maryann

Hello :-)

Overall, the thing that works best for me to beat cravings is the 15 minute rule or the gum test. When I'm really craving something I know I shouldn't have, I drink a glass of water and promise myself that if I'm still craving it in 15 minutes, I can have a little bit of whatever it is. Or, if I'm out somewhere or don't have a water glass handy, I pop in a piece of gum and promise myself that I can have whatever it is when the flavor of the gum is completely gone. I'd say nine times out of ten I've gotten involved with something in the meantime and forget all about whatever I wanted to eat. In the tenth case, I indulge a little (if I cut off or measure out a small piece of whatever it is, that helps make sure I don't eat too much).

Hope this helps!
