Not a good food day...

For those that don't me, I've been doing this since the beginning of September and have lost 20 pounds to get me below my weight when I got pregnant in July02. I've been running a lot training for a half marathon along with good ol' Ria925 so the workouts are kicked up for the coming weeks.

Here's my point...with all the success, I'm not into eating. I know I NEED to eat but nothing is looking good except the stuff that is crazy taboo (cookies, fries). Don't worry, I'm not caving (dh ate the last cookie and I'm not getting in the car just to get fast food). I made a chicken salad with mayo and relish and couldn't eat it. I searched for SOMETHING to eat with no luck. We'll be having salmon and mashed cauliflower tonight so I'm looking forward to that. I know how important is it to eat so your body doesn't burn muscle which is why I made myself eat a piece of provolone cheese with lunch meat (not low fat but I was in a pinch;)

Anyone else get in these ruts and what do you do when you don't have an appetite for anything?

It is ok petree. I too am having a difficult food day. I ate a half of cookie today. It wasn't good, but it was stress eating. I ate it in small pieces, and the kids looked at me and were shocked. Then, they put the guilt shroud on me. I came back with my tail between my legs because these kids are great at guilt trips. Oh well. I know how to combat, but I don't know how to combat those not wanting to eat feelings. Must be a sister thing.

Any help out there? I'm not falling off the wagon. I've been doing this since 9/8. It must be the rain or the time change throwing things off.

It's drizzly/dreary here, too.

Hi Alison!

Congrats on getting below your prepreg weight--what a great accomplishment!

Regarding your question: What phase are you in? I has the no-appetite problem a lot toward the end of P1 and occassionally on P2 (and P3!). You're right, though, we need to eat, especially those of us who exercise regularly.

Here's what I do when nothing "legal" is terribly inspiring...I figure out what I would just *love* to have. Maybe it's a glass of chardonnay and some cheese; maybe it's onion rings; maybe it's mac'n'cheese. Then, I have it (and I enjoy every second of it). Usually, an hour or two after I've indulged, I feel like crap. :-P And then I'm back to craving the legal stuff again.

Anyway, it sounds like you're doing awesome; good luck on the half marathon!

Thanks Stacy...I had gotten some nutrigrain waffles for my son to "gum" so I popped two in the toaster and spread some butter for a snack for me. (My son's issues are a different story:) He went from eating like a crazy baby to just wanting the bottle for meals.) It seemed to hit the spot because I was good until dinner. I had about 5 oz of grilled spicy salmon, mashed cauliflower and limas. It was just what I needed.

BTW, I'm in P2-3...depending on the day:)

I have the no appetite problem every now and then too. The thing that I usually want is a hamburger and fries. So, what I usually do is get a double cheeseburger and take off the bun. I usually don't even miss the fries and long as I get a burger. It has a little more fat than I want, but it sure does hit the spot and then I'm good for a while. Does anyone else do this?

Mine was pizza last night... ugh. So, I had turkey pepperoni, veggies, a little pizza quick, motzy cheese, some crushed red pepper and used that with a side of spaghetti squash and it seems all right. Yes, I have food issues too.
