I was hoping that people would write in and talk about what they eat at various types of restaurants when they are in the different phases.
For example, at a Chinese restaurant in p1, I had steamed veggies & chicken (or beef, pork, or tofu) with soy sauce (a lot of the other sauces have sugar); in p2 I would have the same with some brown rice.
At a pizza place during p1, I survived on salad with grilled chicken (they put it on one of their pizzas, so I asked for it on a salad instead). Some places also have chef salads and other meats/cheeses or meatballs if they offer hoagies/subs/grinders.
What have others found out there? Thanks in advance for any ideas!

I eat out at least twice a week. Just looked through my food journal to get some ideas for you. One thing that I will warn you about, you must be willing to tell the waiter to omit or change things. Also, many times I order two appetizers instead of a main course. Apppetizers are usually all protein or veggies and don't come with potatoes. Some of my favorite appetizers are lentil or split pea soup, chicken or shrimp sate, shrimp cocktail. Here are some of my restaurant meals:
Mexican: Gazpacho, Chicken fajitas (skip the tortillas) and order a bowl of black beans
Local seafood: seared tuna with cucumbers and seaweed salad or Grilled Mahi Mahi with stir fried veggies. Shrimp cocktail is also a great choice. Skip the sauce and ask for it ontop of a side salad with vinaigrette dressing.
Steak house: Grilled Filet Mignon with a side of sauteed spinach. Or a burger on a bed of greens.
Although I love chinese food, I try to stay away from it on this diet. Once I order steamed chicken with vegetables and without a sauce or flavoring it was quite tasteless. I would much rather go to an Italian restaurant and have some grilled fish or veal with a salad and veggies on the side. Today I was at school in NYC and stopped with a friend at an Italian restaurant and had grilled tuna with sauteed asparagus and mushrooms on the side.
Hope this helps! Good Luck! Cathy
The thing to remember is that most restaurants have very large portions. The employees and customers often get conditioned to think that those portions are normal. I am working on retraining myself.
Now, if I could just break the habit of eating when I am not really hungry...
