Hi, just started SBD today. So far so good. Anybody interested in being my SBD buddy? Just looking to stay motivated and share my SBD experiences. I am a 35 year old mother of two. I work full time and live in the mid-west. I have tried EVERYTHING else to lose weight and get healty, to no avail. Yet, I am very very positive that SBD will work for me. Good luck to everyone on the Beach and feel free to write me.

Hi and welcome.

We are a pretty friendly bunch here!!!!!! This board is great for support and motivation.

How have you done so far today?

I am 44 yrs. old --- have about 50 or so more lbs. to lose. I started SBD on 9/8 and have lost 18 lbs and 11 1/2 in. I work out 4-5 x a week with Firm workout tapes.

I have a 19 yr. old daughter, work full time, go part time to nursing school also.

Keep posting :)

I have those Firm tapes too! From time to time I dust them off and try them out. You really do them 4 to 5 times a week? Thats great! Sounds like you are really doing great on SBD. I have never lost 18lbs. in my life. I too want to lose around 50lbs. And I am definately going to incorporate those Firm tapes into the plan. I started yesterday and things went very well. I was surpised how the 15 peanuts held me from breakfast to lunch. I am really intersted to understand what foods in what combos are going to keep me the most satifsfied. I am happy to say that I don't give a hoot about Halloween and all of the candy and treats that I will be around. I really believe that I am way too motivated to even be tempted by all that unhealthy junk food. I hope everyone feels that same way and gets though the next few day unscathed.

Hi Maria --- sound like you did great yesterday :)!!!!!

Yes I really do them 4-5x/week. Just to let you know though, because of their high intensity --- I couldn't do them during Phase 1 --- I was extremely carb addicted and really went through major detoxing --- so just in case you decide to try them and find you can't do it, it is common --- some people just have a hard time with exercising until they get to phase 2. On the other hand, some people have no problem --- everyone is different.

In regards to foods and what keeps satisfied ---- I know for me, if I incorporate fat and protein into a snack/meal, I am satisfied. This becomes really important in Phase 2.

For example --- if I have yogurt --- I have to have a few almond slivers in it or else I find I end up wanting more to eat. Like with exercise, everyone is different and it is fun experimenting with what foods will work for you!!!!!

Right now the Halloween candy is doing absolutely nothing for me. I could care less about it, this is the most wonderful thing that this WOE has done for me --- allowed me to be in control of what I put in my mouth and how much.

I have to keep the "fat and protein" idea in mind for all of my meals. Sometimes I don't think to add the fat because of the stigma attached. Also, I have the Fanny Lifter, why did I think that that was the FIRM (I probably have the FIRM too, it is probably next to THE REEBOCK STEP; 3 MINUTE ABS; DENISE WHATS-HER-NAME and all of the other tapes that I have). But it doesn't hurt to have them so that they are there when needed. Has anyone tried the Fanny Lifter? I booked marked your Hippodamia site and will check it out.

ga beachgirl - where you with your boyfriend when he started SBD and was losing the 40lbs? If so, did you want to choke him as the pounds melted away (lol)? Or did you meet him later and he convinced you to try it?

I ate two pork chops last night for dinner. Was that too much and are pork chops allowed on PH 1? I did not find them in the book on either list.

Hi Everyone! I just started the SB diet today and found that I got throught the day fairly well so far. I am still reading the book, but with the start of a new month wanted to get started.

I have struggled with weight loss for about 5 years. I'm 31 years old, happily married with two wonderful boys (12yrs & 14yrs). I have about 60 lbs to lose and have had no luck so far on other diets.

I'm hoping that lossing the weight will help in my attempt to not only feel better physically and mentally, but also with my attempts to concieve.

I would love to correspond with anyone as a diet buddy.

I just started this diet 2 days ago and so far so good (especially considering that yesterday was Halloween and I didn't even cheat one time). I'm glad to see that there is a message board here where hopefully we can all stay in touch and stay motivated.

Hello ladies:

To all of you who are looking for SBD buddies, I highly recommend the email group that Becca started this week. Anyone who's interested is welcome to email me (NO SPAM, PLEASE!!) at shandcsbd@excite.com and I'll pass your message along to Becca. I think there's seven of us on the list now, everyone's very supportive, and there's not an overwhelming number of emails to sift through.

Hope everyone had a great Halloween, and good luck!

Shan
