Not losing much weight

Hi all

I am still enjoying this way of eating, but I have really not lost any weight since the first two weeks. I am cutting back on the complex carbs now to see if that helps.

I am wondering too about portions.

Maybe I am eating too much!

Just watched a great movie called "Real Women Have Curves."

I recommend it for anyone who has struggled w/ weight and self-esteem issues.

Hi Kimmie, Don't worry too much about stand still(maintaining) its the bodys way of resting after a weight loss.Try portion size but according to the beach the portion sizes are to be adverage. I stalled for 3 wks and than started losing again. Just keep on what you're doing and you'll see a loss again. Hugs Maryann

Hey Kimmie-

I think the most frustrating thing for me when I stalled for 4 weeks was that i felt like i was doing everything according to the rules and i wasnt seeing any progress. It wasnt just the lack of weight loss, it was the hard work and lack of weight loss combined. Then, like most other things in life, I remembered that rules need to be applied to individual people's circumstances. I started messing around a little bit with phase II. I tested one day to see if i still needed my snacks. (It turned out the morning one was okay to skip, but the afternoon was harder.) I also messed around with what i was eating in terms of carb grams per day until i felt like i was making progress. The takeaway for me was that in addition to getting back on track, I felt much more in control of what was going on again. AND, I could take that negative energy that was bouncing around in my head and apply it creatively towards my goal.

I'm right now doing a modified phase 1-2 thing. It may stop working in a few weeks and I'll have to modify again. But i dont feel frustrated (and out of control) anymore. I know its within my power to keep trying stuff until it works. I'll tell you, for me, that was what it took to stay motivated.

Good luck!

Hope
