I have decided to give SBD a try but am wondering if I can do it by joining the online thing or if I need to buy the book as well? Thinking if I have to spend the money on the book I might as well just follow that and use discussion groups, and save the online fees.

Anyone else out there using the on-line? I want to start on Tuesday (Nov. 4th)

Thanks (hope I'm doing this right, I've never tried message boards!)

Hi Welcome to the beach. I bought the book and started the SBD in August.Lost 7 lb and have 7 to go to reach goal. I use this board as a meeting room (x-WW)hehe.I get all my information on this board and others,to keep me informed. ivillage is a great place to be, its all about woman health and it has yoodles and yoodles of message boards to go to.I love the SBD,its the only plan that has gotten me sooooooooo close to goal,I can almost reach it. Good luck and keep on posting regularlly, you'll like it here. Hugs Maryann

I bought the book and joined the on-line SBD board. I find the on-line board to be more helpful as it has everything on it that is in the book - and then some. Many, many more recipes, a more extended list of what to eat and what not to eat, the weight tracker, a board to "ask the Nutritionist" and more.

I never use my book anymore ... but I did read it cover to cover. if you don't have the on-line board feature available to you at all times you may want to get the book to use a a reference when you dodn't have computer access. But if you have computer access at all times, I'd go with the on-line board.

Don't forget, too, to use this board, the Prevention board, and recipe boards (listed in the recipe section below) as references. The more information you can get, the better you'll do.
