I would love to add hummus to my list of snack foods, but I am allergic to sesame. Does anyone know if I can make it without the tahini?? I am soooo sick of string cheese and celery!! LOL!

Hi,

I found this on Recipezaar.com. I also read somewhere that you could substitute natural peanut butter for the tahini. Hope this helps. Enjoy!

1 can chickpeas, drained

1 lemon, juice of (about 1/4 cup)

1/4 cup olive oil

1 clove garlic

1/8 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes

1. Put all ingredients into a food processor and blend until smooth.

2. Chill in a covered container.

3. Garnish with parsley.

In addition to the recipe suggested, try the natural or deli sections in your grocery store for prepared hummus. I am sure that not all of them are prepared with sesame ingredients. Enjoy!
