Hello! I am very excited to see discussions full of informtion available to those on this diet. My question is whether anyone has heard of alternate foods for breakfast during Phase I of thediet if you do not like EGGS. I find myself eating two slices of turkey bacon, but am still hungry. I used to eat protein drinks with fruit, oatmeal, english muffins which is out. Also have people really lost 8-13 pounds during teh first two weeks?

Hi,

You don't have to eat eggs. How about cottage cheese. I like mine mixed with some sugar-free apricot or strawberry preserves. Or, I fry up some Canadian bacon ane melt some cheese onto it. Stack it up and its like a grilled cheese sandwich. Also, how about turkey rolled up with alpine lace swiss. It doesn't have to be breakfast food. Sometimes I have my snack food for breakfast. Like celery stuffed with peanut butter or my Laughing cow with 15 almonds. Then at snack time I choose something different. Maybe a dill pickle or some black olives, or hummus with endive leaves. Good Luck! Cathy

It stinks that they put that number as a marketing tool:( people with more to lose will lose quicker than someone almost at goal or within 15 pounds. I think I lost 6. Take measurements before hand and go by that. It'll make you less slave to the scale.

I agree with Alison, the 6-13lbs makes the diet look like a gimmick.

Good luck on SBD. I do not like eggs, either. I have a glass of V-8 in the morning and about an hour later have stuffed celery with cottage cheese. Later in the morning I have pistachios. That holds me until lunch and keeps me fueled for the morning. I did lose 8 lbs. in two weeks, but I am very short and have quite a lot to lose. This week has been slower...I weigh on Saturday. Hope this helps.

i didn't like eggs either, but I could tolerate them enough to eat them. My family was suprised! Now, I see an egg, and I turn green... unless it is a boiled egg. I lost 10 lbs in the first two weeks, but I kept my exercise regime the same. I have steadily lost now, and I am down another 6 lbs in P2 W8 (I think... i lose count.) This doesn't feel like a diet at all. I just eat. Good foods too. I weigh once a week, and I take my measurements and exercise. I bought a scale, but I don't use it anymore because I could see where the scale would become annoying. I am not obsesso over the thing, but I see many on this and other boards where they base everything on whether or not they lose 2 lbs. Anyhow, that is another post.

Good luck to you!

PS... in phase 1, if you do the cottage thing, it might be better to leave the preserves. JMHO.
