Salad Dressing

Hi!

I just got the book in the mail yesterday and I can't wait to start the diet! I am wondering, what are the best kinds of salad dressings to use? I know they recommend not using Low-Fat ones, and I see the Balsamic Vinegar dressing a lot throughout the book. What kind do you order when you go to restaurants?

Thanks so much for your help!

I use a vinaigrette that I make myself at home. It contains olive oil, cider or wine vinegar, and either salad seasonings or Dijon mustard. I also use a variety of bottled dressings. Newman's has an awesome light Balsamic... and Ken's has great light dressings as well. But it is not necessary to stick to the light varieties. I have been out to restaurants numerous times on SBD (I am in week 3... week 1 of phase 2) and when I eat out I get the dressing on the side.

Hope this answers your quesion,

Jessica

I usually make my dressings myself with olive oil and different types of vinegar and seasonings. Sometimes I have lite ranch or caesar (check the sugar content.) When I eat out I just stick to oil and vinegar. Good luck!

Dr. Agatston's answer:

"For dressings, those with the good fats - particularly olive oil - are fine. Vinegar in vinagrette and oil and vinegar dressings help slow digestion and help eliminate hunger.
