Thank god for Ivilliage!!! when ever i need help i find the perfect message board!!!

I am preparing to start the south beach diet, collecting info off the computer, colloecting recipes, ect. Im not sure if i want to buy the book because i heard it wasnt very impressive. We are going grocery shopping on sunday and im gonna stock up on foods that i need for Phase one. Im going to start on monday!!!! any advice for me would be greatly appreciated. I need to lose 25 lbs. Ive lost 42 on my previose weight loss plan (eating less and healthier). but now am at a standstill and am unable to lose anymore.

I work out 4 times a week, Cardio and Streagth training. Ive tried atkins but i wanst really ready and didnt research it too much before starting.

My only problem is that i am a carb addict, however, i have great will power. I do worry about relapse, i know if i can make it threw the phase one then i can start weaning my old favorite back into my diet, with moderation of course. Again...any help would be fantastic!!!! also i would be interested in having an e-mail buddy who is starting phase one around the same time, and we can check in dailey and trade recipes and what not.

Hi

I just started the SBD on Monday 11/3. I only want to lose 10 lbs but I am way more concerned about losing inches in my waist. I also researced alot before I started. The book was only helpful in the recipes and meal plans and lists of food to avoid and enjoy. You should buy it if you want to learn more about exactly how the diet works with your body. I'm on day 2 right now and I am fighting the carb cravings more than anything else. I live on my college campus so when I go to the dining halls for dinner I have to fight off the pizza and pasta which they have every night! But good luck with it, I feel like it's going to work b/c I am eating so much healthier.

Welcome! I, too, found the book to be very helpful in explaining how to adjust this diet to fit your own body, suggestions on how to make meals and snacks work for me, and a few recipes. I didn't use the suggested meal plans, but I did enjoy learning about
