I am new to the board this week and have been surfing around and was wondering if there are any people that have or need to lose big. I read the book and loved it in theory but haven't really read of anyone losing ALOT of weight on it.

Thanks....

Hi, I have noticed that a lot of posting are people who are not obese and only want to lose at max 10-25lbs. I myself, want to lose 50 to 65lbs. I view this as a life style change. Although, I have not met anyone who has lost a large amount on SBD, I have met people who have lost large amounts of weight (80lbs or more) with the same principals of SBD. For example, reduced carbs, reduced sugars and eliminating the bad or trans fats and of course, exercise. Seems to me that this is the best game in town. For the obese, its either a life style similar to this or gastric bypass surgery. Personally, I chose SBD. Good luck and happy losing. Tomorrow I will be completeting the first week of phase one - this morning the scale said loss of 5lbs! So far I am thilled with the results and hope that I will stay motivated to lose it all.

If I were to go within my "healthy weight range" for my height, I would need to be below 183. YIKES! I would not look right. I am 6' and big boned with a larger bust and muscular legs. So, if I were to go that far, I would have to lose about 30lbs. Instead, I just chose to lose 20 lbs. This was big thing for me. I am doing well, and I keeping everything off, and I am still feeling like I don't feel deprived. To me, 20 lbs is a big loss. It might not seem that much to someone who is obese, but to me it is a great loss. Same with losing baby weight. AWESOME loss.
