Anyone taking diet pills or supplements

I just happened across some stuff about Anna Nicole Smith and trim spa. I am really reluctant to take any pills but wonder if it would speed up my weight loss. Right now I am stalled and getting frustrated.

I have been on the SBD for about a month now. At the suggestion of some friends who are and have been doing the SBD for quite some time.......I take a multi-vitamin. I take one with Folic Acid the one a day for woman. I am going to switch to a liquid vitamin like the one the Dr. Wallach sells. In addition to the folic acid. I also take cod liver oil in the oil form not the pill form. Nordic Naturals makes one in orange flavor and it does not have a fishy taste. I also take flax seed oil once a day. I have been taking psyllium husk powder once a day but I have been advised that I should try the Gaia herbs super cleanse. Apparently from eating carbs and stuff for so long a weight stall could be due to a "dirty" colon. I am not ready or willing to have a colonic done do I am going to try the super cleanse for two weeks and then switch back to the psyllium husk. The easiest way I have found to take these is to put it in a shake in the morning. I buy whey protien in the chocolate flavor. You can find one with about 3 carbs per serving. No sugar. These are not the best tasting things. I mix in the flax seed and fish oil and psyllium powder and have one for breakfast. My sister and I joke that it is chocolate cardboard flavor. I have been doing the whey shake with the suppliments for about two weeks and the stall that I expierenced has gone away. Hopefully with the super cleanse I will come out of it completely.

Taking into account that everyone's body and health are different, I usually find that when I am constipated or stalled, it is becvause I am not drinking enough water. Maybe that is the same for you. Before SBD, I had this problem when using protein powder. My roommate at the time (who was a dialysis nurse) said that it was my kidney's reaction to the ratio of protein to liquid I consumed.

Hope this is helpful!

I don't know if it is the water. I have always drank a lot of water even before I started SBD. I never was big on other liquids. I guess I will try to increase my water intake, although I already go to the bathroom quite frequently. I may have been slacking on my water intake this week. Thanks.

I've been hearing that about Anna Nicole, too. I have taken diet supplements. I took Hydroxycut for a few weeks. The second week when I increased to 2 pills in the morning, I had also drank coffee, and got so weak in class (I'm in college), I had to leave, because I thought I would pass out. It definnately depends on the person, as to how your body will react. Other diet pills I tried did not have that same effect on me. BE CAREFUL what you take. Even though diet pills say ephedra free, they can still make your heart race. As for vitamins, I do take a Vitamin Supplement. The Whey Protein shakes can taste really good. I usually add a packet of sweet and low, and a little sugar free chocolate syrup. (They're not too good unless you doctor them up..haha). Hope this helps!

Bluest Eyes in Texas (Wasn't that by Lone Star?):

I always ask myself the question "what's the tradeoff?" Almost nothing comes without a price. If you must rely on something synthetic to reach your objective, will you then put more credence in it to reach and maintain your ideal weight or to the behavioral changes that got you to the point you're at now? Some people will be taking diet pills their entire life, relying on them instead of themselves.

There are health risks. There was a 25-year old woman in our building who suddenly died from heart failure two years ago. She was taking Metabolife at the time.

In weight training and in weight loss, there are always temporary plateaus. Be your own stimulant to get those last few pounds off. It's all a matter of fuel management: either the incoming or the expenditure thereof, or both. Restrict carbs a little more, watch your portion sizes and above all, increase your fuel consumption with exercise. Be patient and you'll get there. When you do, you'll know that it was "all you". You will have been in control and not some foreign stimulant to which you had to subject your body.

Winston Churchill was once asked to speak at a commencement. He rose and said this to the graduates: "Never, ever, ever give up". That's all the words he spoke, then he sat back down. The audience was stunned at the brevity of his address. However, is there really anything more to success than that? Success is usually preceeded by a long string of failures. Never, ever, ever give up and you'll eventually succeed.

I take a capsule of Green Tea and a capsule of One-a-day weight smart multi vitamin. I don't know if they really work. Then again, I wonder what I would be like if I had not taken them. I also take 2 biotin tablets in the AM. I have doing this for a while now and long before South Beach.
