I was just curious to see if anyone was planning or had thought about plastic surgery to re-define the post SBD goal weight body. This post is not meant to offend anyone.

Good one.

I do like the idea of plastic surgery. If you'd have asked me this question 10 years ago I might have had a different answer.

I used to be very heavy... 182 and it all seemed to come off gradually. Then I was at 135 for about 10 years and and could not budge below. Since then I have had two kids (ages 2 and 4) and went down to 120 after my first pg. and went right back to that weight after the second. I was happy except for the tire around my belly.

(I was a thin kid and not heavy until I went away to school overseas when I was 16. It was tough going from fit to fat in such a short time frame. I think this is why my initial weight loss came off so rapidly.)

From my late teens until recently I hated my boobs, they were too big. I wanted a breast reduction in the worst way, but after nursing and losing my pg. weight they went down a size. A bit droopy they are, though I doubt any different from someone else who is a full C and has had kids. I definitely have excess skin around my belly. If I could get rid of it without the pain and complications of surgery I would. But no one sees it except myself in the shower. It's hidden when I wear clothes. I am also much more at peace with my body at my old age of 36. I llok good in most clothes (now) and I just love what SBD has done to my middle and self esteem and energy level.

In a not so nutshell, there is my answer!

I had a breast reduction last December and couldn't be happier! I was so uncomfortable and I had a hard time excercising due to back, neck, and shoulder pain. It has definitly changed my life. I am now excercising and eating by the South Beach lifestyle and feel so much better about myself.

This was just my own experiance and I just thought I would share it with everyone.

Thanks,

I think a lot about getting a breast reduction. DDs on a small 5ft4 frame are just rough on the back.

Wow, this really got me thinking. I would love to have somekind of work done, probably lipo or tummy tuck, but I don't think I could justify the money to have it done. Besides the fact that my husband just wouldn't hear of it. AND, I could probably look the way I wanted to if I just worked hard at it and exersiced, but I never do. How do you girls do it that exercise all the time??? I do really good for about 2 weeks, and then I always quit. :-(

I just work out like a dog over a 3-week stretch and crash for a little while. I do really low-level, uninspired treadmill walks for a couple of times that 4th week to recharge my energy and my brain. By the time that week is over, I'm so bored with being mopey that I get back into the groove of more intense workouts pretty quickly. I thought the lag was because of TOM, but it really isn't consistent with the calendar.

On the subject of plastic surgery, I'd consider very limited lipo for under my chin and at the saddlebags on my hips, and leave the rest the way it is. I'm finally able to deal with it and feel good about working out and the results I'm seeing.

Great topic, Ria!!

I've already decided that I will have a tummy tuck when I get to my goal weight. At my heaviest I was 242 pounds (5'9"), and I've always carried the majority of my weight around my middle, as opposed to my arms and legs. Now that I'm 202 pounds, I've already got quite a bit of sagging in my tummy. I can't stand it!! And since this is extra "blown-out" skin that no amount of exercise will fix, it's definitely coming off.

I'm not sure if I would do anything else. Even just a year ago, I would have said a definite no to anything else (other than the tummy tuck), but I'm getting lots of droop in my face and in my boobs, and I'm only 38. Maybe it's vain, but I would consider doing some other work, too.

I had one also...about 4 years ago. It totally changed my life. I wasn't really able to do anything physical before I had it done...now you can't keep me down!

I read somewhere that running gives you the biggest "bang for the buck"...I started out running 1 mile and had increased to running 20 miles a week with minimal problems. Then I had my son 7 months ago and was 26 pounds heavier than my previously lowest weight. I've never had to start from the bottom not to mention heavier and less muscular than my previous beginning. It was the only way I knew I could lose weight the quickest. Just diet doesn't do it for me. i used the FIRM for a month until cooler weather came and then I started running again. When my son turns 8 months, I'll be running a half marathon as the first race I've entered in a year and a half. I've got to be very active. Plus I want my son to see me do it and hopefully he'll want to be active too.

So, what time of day do you run? Do you find it hard to keep with the exercise schedule?
