I just started this on Saturday, so I would be willing to be a Beach Buddy for you. I need to lose 74 pounds. I lost 85 a year and a half ago by starving myself but, predictibly, the weight started creeping back on once I started eating again. So before it ALL came back I was getting desperate to try something that would work. Here I am on Day 6 and have lost 3 pounds. Not as much as I was hoping but not a bad start. My ex also left me for a younger woman (what a sad cliche!) and my son will be leaving for the Air Force at some point. So, if you need a shoulder for anything, I'm willing to listen!! If you want to e-mail me directly, you can do that at cyndie1030@yahoo.com. Good luck and hang in there...you're a lot stronger than what you think!!!
Hugs,
Cyndie
Big Hugs to both of you --- you have a lot on your plate to deal with.
Sandy --- the best advice I can offer you is to plan ---- always have something portable you can eat on the plan with you in case you get stuck like nuts/string cheese or something.
It is a great WOE --- I had 70 lbs. to lose when I started on 9/8 and I now am down 20 lbs. I am in Phase 2.
Welcome again --- feel free to post as often as you like --- great bunch of people here with plenty of motivation and support.
Ellen
Welcome Sandy and Cyndee.

Thanks for those supportive words. Since this was my first week of P1, I found I haven't been able to start a fitness plan yet. I have been getting tired really easy. Even walking up the steps at home exhausts me. I am hoping that goes away soon. I plan on walking on my treadmill (instead of using it to dry clothes!) for 30 minutes a day, plus I bought the Walking Off The Pounds tapes. I will start with the Tape 1 of those, which I think takes 15 minutes a day and work my way up. Before when I lost weight I started walking and was up to 45 minutes. So, I thought it would be great to get a treadmill so I could walk no matter what the weather was. But I found out that after 20 minutes of walking, if I got tired or bored...I was 20 minutes from home and had to walk back...so I got a 40 minute walk in. But with the treadmill when that happens after 20 minutes, I can just hop off the thing! I haven't been able to ever stay on it for more than 20 minutes!! I am leaving on Sunday for a two-week trip and I don't know if my hotel has a fitness room. If they do, I would like to start while I am down there, since I won't have so many distractions like I do at home. If they don't, perhaps it would be a good idea to run up and down the stairs a few times a day.
Thanks again!!
Cyndie
Hi Cyndie,
I was fatigued and feeling funky the first week, too, so I have myself a lot of slack the first week with exercise.
