Chubby Buddies Needed

I'm new to SBD... this is my first week. I need to lose about 60-65lbs. (a lot) and am looking for others to make friends with, send support, and share recipes with. I love cooking and I'm an avid exerciser. However, I was having trouble losing weight from exercise alone. I decided to give SBD a try and hope it will change my WOE and my life. Are there any diet tips that anyone can offer? I've had no problem giving up rice, pasta, bread, and potatoes. But goodness I sure do miss my sweets and pastries. I've followed phase one exactly and can't wait to go to phase two so I can have milk and fruit again.
Has anyone lost a lot of weight on this diet? I'm a little worried about the no calorie restriction... I've been eating only good carbs and no sugar. I hope that even without the calorie counting this diet will still work. I eat until I'm satisfied but should I watch my portions more carefully? Can anyone recommend a good salad dressing? I don't like vinagrettes very much. Thanks for any advice possible.

The support and encouragement at this board is amazing. So is the advice and information given. I have been on SBD for 9 days and I have already lost 7lbs, after my first week. The first couple days are difficult, each person experiences different withdrawals (for me it was sweets). But if you stick with it you will lose weight and control your cravings for bad carbs and sweets. Just stick to the phase 1 foods to enjoy list and drink lots of water. On this diet you also have to cut down on caffine. I know like it sounds like a lot to cut out at one time. But phase 1 is only two weeks. In phase 2 you can slowly introduce "good" carbs and dairy back into your diet. After you see or feel the difference.. it will encourage you more and strengthen your will-power. Good luck.. we're here for you!

Just keep at it. I can relate with both a large weight loss goal (83 pounds), and with gaining a few pounds that wouldn't go away. For me, I hadn't overeaten or had any bad carbs, but I wasn't drinking enough water, and was skipping snacks due to busyness. Hang in there, and just keep at it. Drink lots of extra water, think forward instead of back at the holiday meals, and it will continue to come off. It finally broke for me, too, and now I'm a couple pounds down from where I was before it started to creep up.
You're doing really great!! You've lost a lot of weight, and that's so great. The holidays are difficult, but thankfully they are just once a year. Be patient with yourself, and keep up the great work. Even if you get sidetracked a couple of times during this crazy month, you're still ahead of the game come January 1st!!
Hugs,

I believe you posted to me earlier regarding the chubby buddies! Sorry I didn't respond but I am a new working mom and haven't really figured out how to budget my time!! I would love to be your buddy if you are still interested. I have approximately 75 pounds to lose and have been on the SBD for 4 days now and so far so good! The scale says I am 5 pounds down.
Well let me know and good luck either way!! Off to the Beach!
