Red, red, wine....

I'm just curious about other red wine enthusiasts out there. I enjoy a good glass of red zin, merlot, or cabernet franc. I have read everything fron 0 grams of carb to 3 grams of carb for a glass. I usually limit myslef to one glass (two on weekends)and I am wondering if anyone has noticed a correlation between wine drinking and pounds or inches lost. It seems to me I lose quicker when I don't have my glass of wine, but I am not willing to give it up entirely LOL.

My current favorite is Seven Deadly Zins.

Any other wine lovers care to post their favorite South Beach Wines?

I don't know, since I use mainly cooking wine, which tends to be very high in sodium (the sodium allows it to stay on the shelf a long time without refrigeration). Good question, though, and I wanted to respond lest this post end

I have only recently discovered wine, and am really trying to teach my tastebuds how to enjoy the "good" stuff. I would really really appreciate any advise anyone could give regarding how to pick wine. I am a fairly new wine drinker and really prefer a sweet non-dry wine, but have NO idea how to pick one.

I am a huge wine enthusiast as well. THough I like red and white. My favorite reds are Black Opal, and Ravenswood -- they are merlots and shirazs. Have you ever had an Australian shiraz? It's great. Highly recommend them! And Chillean reds are nice too!

I do drink more white than red, though, as the reds tend to give me headaches and since they have so much (here's a nice piece of trivia for you) histamine in red, they can really bother my allergies. So if you have a cold or allergies and you're really congested, the white won't clog you up as much as the red!

I love Black Opal as well! I will be off phase I at the end of this week and I am looking forward to being able to have a glass every once in a while! I also love white wine but the book says I can only have red? Any thoughts on this? Has anyone been drinking white wine and still lost weight?

Thanks,

Melissa
