So I know I have a couple of weeks but I can't wait! I know I can have the turkey and all the great veggies that my Mom makes. And I can live without the deserts. I am not a fan of pumpkin pie and all the others I usually pass on anyway.........besides I know I will make a pie or two and that alone makes me not want to eat it! But the mashed potatoes and the stuffing! That I can't live without! I mean I wait all year for this feast. We don't have a Christmas dinner so any turkey and mashed potatoes and stuffing I need to have on Thanksgiving. I am currently on phase 2 and plan to stay on that for a while. And I know in the book he said you can indulge on special occasions. Does anybody think that I can have a little of the "forbidden" foods on Thanksgiving?

I'm planning on it.

JMO - I can do without the mashed potatoes. But give me my stuffing and my candied sweet potatoes or yams!

Hi! I think if you've been good, then why not? If you find yourself really craving things after Thanksgiving, just go back to P1 for a few days until they subside. My family eats sweet potatoes, which are more OK than regular mashed potatoes. I will indulge in pumpkin pie, myself, since I love it so much. We'll see if I enjoy it as much after being on this WOE (but I think I will). We don't tend to overeat much, either, so I think I'll be fine. My mom established the "family walk" one year when I was a kid, and it's a holiday tradition on any holiday associated with a large meal. Good tradition, I think!
i don't think Dr. Agatson wants us to live without our favorites forever!!!

I'm going to indulge wisely.
Indulge Wisely - what a great choice of words!

Gabrielle, don't miss out on great advice and ideas.....scroll down lower on this board to the "Recipes" section and see the thread called "Let's Discuss Thanksgiving!"
People who are effective have used setbacks as stepping-stones; whereas ineffective people have used them as excuses.
