Hang on, Phase 2 is coming (assuming you are in Phase 1). In Phase 2, you can enjoy some foods every once in a while. I like Hebrew National products, as they more real meat (beef)

I agree Catherine --- although I actually ate Hebrew National 97% fat free hotdogs during Phase 1 a couple of times.

They really aren't that bad and are endorsed by the American Heart Association-- however, they do have nitrates in them --- so they should be just a once in a while treat.

How about a good substitute. I tried Jennie-O turkey pastrami, and it may satisfy your craving for a hot dog. Under the Recipe section see my post about Reubens that I made last week. They were yummy! With sauerkraut and mustard, you may think you are eating a hot dog!! Good Luck!!

Yeah, you're right about the nitrites, Ellen. Although not mentioned in this diet, that is good health advice. I'm sure I've been eating too much bacon, and it's really time to cut back. There is very little cancer in my family, but

Then why don't you have a hot dog?
