I've heard this helps you lose weight. Does anyone have any info on it? Also, is stomach fat what you really lose most of in this diet?TIA.

Hi codybear,

I am not sure how much green tea really helps you to loose weight. IT has caffeine in it and caffeine can have a fat-burning effect IF you work out shortly after drinking it. However, caffeine can also raise your insulin (in some people) and that's what you want to avoid. Everybody is different. The good thing is that green tea has tons of antioxidants.

As for the fat loss - again, everybody is different. The average woman looses fat in her upper body (breasts :( ) first and in her lower body last, and vice versa on the fat loss. However, you should loose fat on your tummy. It's not that hard to have a six-pack really since we all have stomach muscles. It is one of the often used muscles in our body just in every day life. When I keep my carbs really low, you can practically see a little six-pack yet I haven't done any exercises for my stomach in months. So yes, you should see some fat loss in your stomach, but you should see it overall, too.

The Green tea that I buy is Tetley Decaffinated!! (I'm assuming you can get it in the States too!!) I have been drinking it for quite some time now. I just prefer it better then regular tea. But I have heard of the benefits to weight loss.

Good Luck,

White Tea has lots more oxidants than even green tea. It is hard to find and is not inexpensive. There are different grades of it too. I've heard that The Republic of Tea has some out now, but if you can't find it in a store and would like some check out www.teavana.com. Click on Oolong/White teas. I buy the Drum Mountain White Cloud variety, but the Silver Needle is the highest quality, I believe.

I hadn't heard about green tea and weight loss, though green tea has a ton of antioxidants and is really good for a host of bodily functions, including circulation. I like a lot of different teas. I've seen

Black Currant and Almond Sunset are great tasting, too! There's a mixed berry tea (I think it's a Celestial Seasonings tea) that is really good for a sweet tooth, as well. I haven't seen Constant Comment in a green tea version...I'll have to look for that!

Can you help me on the tea thing???? I was raised on Sweet Tea... ahhhh... I love my sweet tea. I don't drink it anymore expect on EXTRA SPECIAL times. Anyhow, I don't konw how to drink tea! lol. In my stocking last year, I received all sort of celestial seasonings tea... however, I feel like a goober because I don't know how to drink it with all the sweetners! lol

I am being serious about this. Do I just steep the tea bag for a few minutes then drink? My sister is probably laughing her tail off readin this! lol

I've never had a cup of coffee in my life, so I'm java challenged. LOL!

I just put the tea bag in a cup and pour boiling water over it. Let it sit about 3-5 minutes, and it should be ready. I have to have sweetener in my tea. SteviaPlus (found in the health food store) is acceptable, because it doesn't affect glucose levels. It's a little tricky though, because it's so incredibly sweet that if you use too much it can give it a sort of licorice taste (which I don't like at all). You could probably use Splenda too. Some people like lemon in their tea. I like milk or cream in mine unless it's Constant Comment or something else with citrus in it. Citrus will curdle a dairy product.

Happy sipping!

Rhonda

I love Green Tea and have been drinking lots of that. I've never heard of "white tea" I'm going to have to look for it. I've been into Bigelow's Vanilla Carmel lately. I also like Taylors & Harrogate Decaf tea, a co-worker gave me a bunch but it's very hard to find, I haven't located it yet in the store. It's much more smooth then Tetley or Lipton and doesn't have any bitter flavor.
