I want to start soon, but dont know if I should wait until after the holidays,so I can actually enjoy it? I really dont know if I can be "good" during the Holidays with all the great food! Do you think I should wait, or go for it?

If you don't think you can wait, don't. I waited until after a special occasion. I wanted to make sure I had an "ideal" environment to start. That's just me though. I didn't want to have obstacles waiting me for to hurdle.

Cody-

think of your greatest achievement. the one you're most proud of. how much did you want it? alot, right? just like other achievements, when you're trying to lose weight, there are lots of reasons to fail if you're looking for them...including "the holidays." when you achieved that other thing, you didnt let *anything* get in your way.

if you want to lose weight bad enough, the holidays wont matter. you'll do it and you'll succeed. if you don't...you'll fail no matter what. if it's not the holidays, there will always be something else.

none of us is perfect. most are just hanging on. and we're hanging out here because, in order to achieve, we *know* we need help. we also know that if we resolve ourselves, and focus on our goal, we'll get the help we need. and we'll get it done.

do a gut check. and do what your gut tells you. i hope it tells you to come join us on the beach. we promise, we'll be there to help. plus---some of the people here are awfully funny!

Hope

If I were you, I would wait until after Thanksgiving since it is so near already. But, start preparing yourself now and start shortly after. I was going to start December 1st because I wasn't sure if I could make it, but I got very inspired and started about 3 weeks ago. I am still planning on enjoying Thanksgiving. However, I really have curbed my cravings since being on this diet that I am confident that I won't over do it on Thanksgiving.

It's a personal choice of course, and you know yourself well enough to know what you're made of and what your ability is to withstand temptation and stay focused.

I agree with the others. Starting before the holidays may help you to curb your cravings while still enjoying the holidays, but waiting may ensure better success. You have to decide what you think is best for you.

Do continue to join us on the Beach, though, whichever you decide. And let us know how you are doing.

Hi!

IMVHO, (In my very humble opinion), I think that only YOU can answer the question : are YOU ready or not ? When you're 100% ready, you'll feel it. You'll feel SO exited to start this WOE (Way of eating) that you won't be able to wait!

Personally I think that's the difference between all the other times I've tried to get healthy and this time. I did it for ME, no one else. When I was ready.

If it were me, I would probably start after the holidays for this reason : Holidays CAN Be stressful, and as this is why I got 'pleasantly plump!LOL' in the beginning, because I'm an emotional eater, I use food as comfort food throughout stressful times. That's why I chose a very 'normal' week to start this WOE and then I saw results and it motivated me to keep going :)

Good Luck, keep us posted!

Nancy :)
