Concerns about starting diet

I have been reading about this diet and have some questions. I have not purchased the book, and don't know if I should try it. First of all-I am nursing-but my son is eating solids, too. Can I do this diet-or can I modify it somehow? Also, my allergist told me the other day that he thought I could possibly be having symtoms of reflux. Does anyone know if this diest will cause more trouble with that? Also, I have hear dit's confusing to follow-is taht true?

Hi!

First, I highly recommend buying (and reading!) the book. I imagine that this diet would be confusing to follow if you tried to do it from word-of-mouth alone (kind of like trying to drive to a far-away destination without a map...eventually, you might get there, but it'd be a lot faster and easier if you did your homework and some preparation, first!).

How old is your son? I started this diet when my daughter was 10 months old (she was eating solids, too) and didn't have any problems, but you might want to talk to your doctor first.

Welcome and good luck!

=) Stacy

I just read below...someone confirmed that if you are nursing, start in Phase 2 a la Dr. Agatston. This diet should help with the GERD symptoms, I think, since it designed to be a healthy way of eating. I had some GERD symptoms when I was 20 pounds overweight and not eating right. They did go away long before this diet, but no doubt eating healthy would help, as well.

Hi! Welcome to the beach!

I think that you need to start at Phase II, but read the book first so you know everything there is to know! (I promise it's easy and fast to read, unlike some other diet books :)

I don't know about reflux... but I don't think this WOE (way of eating) would make it any worse, since this is the healthiest way you could eat. (in my very humble opinion).

Oh, and for this diet being confusing, NOT TRUE! It's the easiest diet I've EVER been on, I pinky swear!

Good Luck, Keep us posted!

Nancy :)

Thank you all for your help and input. I had intended to get the book-but didn't know if it was worth getting now with nursing and the concern of reflux-thought maybe I should wait. I did go out and buy it this am-and will try to get some read during naps.
